Melati Sesilia Admits Earning More Selling Grilled Rice by the Roadside than Being a Member of JKT48

Kapanlagi.com - Former JKT48 member Melati Sesilia has gone viral for selling grilled rice by the roadside. She also admitted to frequently rejecting management offers to join because she didn't want the hassle.

As a result, the 22-year-old initially chose to focus on her studies after leaving JKT48, but eventually took the bold step of trying her luck in the business world. She doesn't deny that her grilled rice initially had few buyers, but thanks to social media, it's now widely known.

"I like both, because I'm really active. I liked it when I was a member and I also like selling now. If I'm not interested in management offers, then it's okay to just focus on my studies," said Melati Sesilia when met in the Johar Baru area of Central Jakarta recently.

"It's too much hassle to be tied to management, so if (job offers) come directly to me, then I'll decide whether to take them or not," she continued.

When asked about the comparison between her income as an active member of JKT48 and her current busy selling, Melati doesn't deny that her current income is much bigger.

"It depends, it's not small because I sell every day, so the turnover is much bigger. It's different from being in JKT48, it's a business," she said.

3. Equally Tired

Despite that, Melati admits that her activities were equally tiring before and now. It's not much different from when she was still a member of JKT and selling now.

"Equally tired, back then I did it while studying and now I sell while studying. Back then, I went straight to JKT activities after school," she said.
