Mega Bintang Indonesia Foundation held the Sashing Ceremony of Miss Mega Bintang 2024 in Yogyakarta. The event was opened directly by the founder of Mega Bintang Indonesia Foundation, Ivan Gunawan. The event was held in a luxurious and solemn atmosphere with a strong Javanese cultural influence.

Ivan Gunawan appeared directly to open the Sashing Ceremony of Miss Mega Bintang Indonesia 2024 at the Ambarukmo Hotel pendopo. One of the famous designers of the country appeared stunningly in Javanese traditional attire complete with beskap, jarik, and blangkon.
Taking place in a city rich in culture, the sashing ceremony took place in Javanese tradition. In addition to the location in the pendopo building, the invited guests were also seen wearing Javanese traditional attire. The faint sound of gamelan added to the solemn atmosphere.
In addition to Gus Miftah, the presence of Miss Grand Indonesia 2023, Ritassya Wellgreat, also attracted attention. Ritassya appeared stunningly in a long kebaya and crown. The queen's aura radiating from her beautiful face captivated all eyes.
The Miss Mega Bintang Indonesia 2024 beauty pageant was participated by 50 finalists from 13 provinces. All 50 participants appeared enchanting in kebaya attire. Interestingly, when interviewed by kapanlagi.com after the event, Ivan Gunawan admitted that the Janggan kebaya in the Gadis Kretek series inspired him for the kebaya theme for this year's finalists. "I (Ivan Gunawan) actually based the concept (of the sashing ceremony kebaya theme) on the Gadis Kretek. Black kebaya, (but) with their own style, with their own way of carrying themselves (the participants)," expressed Ivan Gunawan.
The sashing procession or the placement of sash on the finalists was carried out by Miss Grand Indonesia, Ritassya Wellgreat. The procession appeared very sacred. The serene atmosphere also added to the solemn impression of the sashing procession for the finalists.
Ivan Gunawan as the main judge of Miss Mega Bintang Indonesia 2024 evaluated the finalists during the sashing ceremony session. As a result, two finalists were chosen as the best. They are Olla Levina representing DKI Jakarta 2 as the best kebaya, and Anindya Gupita representing DIY 2 as the best walk in sashing ceremony. Both of them were announced as winners and entitled to receive prizes in the form of an iPhone 15.
To ensure the success of the Miss Mega Bintang Indonesia 2024 event, Ivan Gunawan collaborated with his fellow designers. In one of the special moments during the sashing ceremony, Ivan proudly introduced his colleagues.
Before the closing of the sashing ceremony, Ivan Gunawan revealed the series of events that the finalists had experienced during their quarantine in Yogyakarta. After the previous day's welcome dinner, the sashing ceremony took place on Saturday (4/5), and the finalists will also participate in a fashion show at Candi Sewu titled Culture Parade on Sunday (5/5).Â
