However, it turns out that just 11 months after deciding to convert, Ayu returned to her previous faith. She decided to embrace Islam again and recited the two sentences of the shahada.
Guided by a cleric and witnessed by friends, Ayu recited her shahada fluently. "'Asyhadu allaa ilaaha illallaah': which means: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah"."Wa asyhadu anna Muhammadar rasuulullah": which means: "And I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah," Ayu wrote on her Instagram page.
Ayu revealed her reason for returning to Islam, one of which was because her father visited her in a dream. In addition, Ayu did not want the public to misunderstand her for performing the umrah pilgrimage.
With a trembling voice, Ayu recited the two shahada in front of the ustaz who guided her. Two of Ayu's friends, Saipul Jamil and Elly Sugigi, were also present during the moment of the model's return to embracing Islam.
The public had accused Ayu of playing with religion due to her change of faith this time. However, Ayu assured the public that Islam is her final religion that she will embrace until the end of her life.
