He does not view the actions of the netizens as an insult to his work at all. On the contrary, he praised their creativity and even issued a positive challenge for the future.
"It's up to me, 'creative like this'. Yes, that's good. It just needs to be executed next year. Come on, they can do it," he explained.
Endiarto encourages these creators not to stop at remakes, but to realize complete works in the following year. If they feel capable of creating something better, he invites them to make a real contribution to the next proclamation celebration.
"If they feel they can do better, contribute to next year's proclamation. Because now it’s already too late. Next year, provide the same form, we are in this together," he suggested.
According to him, this will make the independence celebration more festive with a variety of quality entertainment options. He would feel proud if this small initiative could spark the emergence of other diverse works.
"So celebrating the proclamation is not just in villages, not just simply putting up flags on buildings, or parading in red and white costumes, no. But our part, as creative film workers, is to contribute," he explained.
He also imagined how great it would be if next year there were many alternative independence films for various age segments. For him, that would be a success.
"If someone can remake like that, it means next year there will be several alternatives. Oh, we should be proud. So, 'Wow, that's cool, there are several,' so there are many choices for the public about whether they want to target the children's segment, the 13-year-old segment, or the 17-year-old segment, it really depends on each one," he concluded.
