Mother and Sister Died in the Sinking of a Ship, Ayu Anjani Shocked - Suspects Crew Negligence

Kapanlagi.com - Sad news came from the family of soap opera actress Ayu Anjani. Her mother, Jumiatun Widaningsih, and her sister, Annisa Fitriani, passed away in the sinking of the Tiana GT 61 ship in the waters of Komodo National Park, Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara.

After holding a tahlilan event at her residence and meeting with the media, Ayu Anjani revealed her shock upon hearing the news of her mother and sister's death. She had promised to follow them on vacation.

"Around seven o'clock, I was called several times, but I was still asleep. I thought what's going on, usually they can contact me via WhatsApp. When I answered, they told me that Mama was gone and my sister was missing. I thought they were joking," Ayu said in Cikarang Utara, Bekasi, on Wednesday night (29/6).

Disappointment also crept into Ayu Anjani's heart over the death of her mother and youngest sister. She did not expect both of them to pass away due to crew negligence.

"What shocked me was that Mama didn't drown because of swimming or snorkeling, but because she was trapped. I can't accept that. I'm sad because no crew member dared to dive. I'm sad that Mama didn't survive," she continued.

2. Left Like Fishes

In the event of the sinking of the Tiana GT 61 ship in the waters of Komodo National Park, Ayu Anjani's other sister named Anne April was found alive after receiving help from the crew of the Andalusia II GT 71 ship. In explaining the chronology, Anne regretted the attitude of the crew of the ship she boarded, which was considered indifferent when they knew that the passengers had drowned.

"Even though there was a lifeboat on the ship, but because all the crew were stupid, none of them lowered the lifeboat, they just watched us struggle like fish. After that, I was put in another lifeboat on the ship that helped me. From there, I only found my mother and she was already gone (dead)," said Anne.

3. Helped by Another Ship's Crew

Ayu Anjani and Anne April revealed that their mother's body was successfully evacuated by the crew of another ship that approached. The crew bravely rescued their mother who was trapped in the cabin of the sunken ship.

"That's what the crew from my friend's ship said who went to get my mother. And he used oxygen from the compressor," explained Ayu.

"Even the Basarnas team scolded him for being reckless, 'You could die using that.' But it was cool that he wanted to help," added Anne.

4. Due to Strong Winds

Ayu Anjani's family boarded the Tiana GT 61 ship on Monday (27/6) departing from Labuan Bajo to Kanawa Island and continued to Kambing Loh Island to spend the night at Mooring. On Tuesday morning (28/6) around 05.00 WITA, strong winds suddenly tilted the ship.

The crew and passengers received help from the Andalusia II GT 71 ship. From the evacuation process, one person suffered serious injuries and two died, who turned out to be Ayu Anjani's mother and sister.
