Nanang Gimbal, the Executor, Actor Sandy Permana Sentenced to 12 Years in Prison, Must Pay Restitution of Hundreds of Millions

The murder case involving the artist Sandy Permana has finally entered its final chapter with the court's ruling. The panel of judges at Cikarang District Court has read the sentence against the defendant Nanang Irawan alias Nanang Gimbal.

This ruling session was held to determine the fate of the perpetrator who took the life of the artist at the Cikarang District Court.

Based on information quoted from the Case Tracking Information System (SIPP) of Cikarang District Court, the legal process states that Nanang has been proven guilty. The judge assessed that all the evidence presented in the trial met the elements of the crime of murder in accordance with the primary charges filed by the public prosecutor.

"It is stated that the defendant Nanang Irawan alias Gimbal bin Kusdi is proven legally and convincingly guilty of committing the crime of murder as stated in the primary indictment," said the panel of judges in their verdict.

As a consequence of his heinous act, the panel of judges sentenced Nanang to a fairly heavy prison term. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

However, this sentence will not be served in full from the beginning, as the judge ordered that the sentence be reduced by the time Nanang has already spent in detention since the legal process began. "The defendant is therefore sentenced to imprisonment for 12 (twelve) years," the judge stated.

Furthermore, the judge also provided a ruling regarding the technicalities of the detention period during the reading of the verdict. "The period of arrest and detention that the defendant has undergone is to be fully deducted from the sentence imposed," he said.

Justice for the victim's family is also an important focus in this ruling. In addition to physical punishment in the form of imprisonment, Nanang Gimbal was also sentenced to an additional penalty of paying restitution.

This compensation fund was ordered by the judge to be handed directly to the victim's heir, namely Ade Andriani, who is the wife of the late Sandy Permana.

"To sentence the Defendant to pay restitution to Ade Andriani (the victim's wife) in the amount of Rp269,706,000.00 (two hundred sixty-nine million seven hundred six thousand rupiah)," he stated.
