Naysilla Mirdad Stars as Hanna in 'Catatan Hati Seorang Istri', Does Not Want to Imitate Dewi Sandra's Style

Naysilla Mirdad once again demonstrates her acting prowess as she is cast in the lead role of the latest drama series titled Catatan Hati Seorang Istri. She is entrusted to portray the character Hanna, a wife who must face the bitter reality when her husband cheats, a role that was previously strongly associated with the image of actress Dewi Sandra.

The challenge of portraying a wife and mother does not seem to pose a significant obstacle for Naysilla. The younger sister of Nana Mirdad admits to having many references from her close ones who have already built their households.

"Portraying a wife and a mother, I don’t feel like there are any issues or obstacles. Even though I am not married yet, I have plenty of references from my family and friends, all of whom are married, so I feel there are no obstacles," said Naysilla during the Special Screening of Catatan Hati Seorang Istri, in Jakarta, Wednesday (20/8/2025).

Even so, Naysilla emphasized that she does not want to be trapped in the shadow of her predecessor's success. She is committed to presenting her own version of the character Hanna, which is born from her personal interpretation and understanding.

"I am not trying to copy Ms. Dewi Sandra at all, no. I am just playing the best version of myself with the character Hanna that I have accepted. Hopefully, it will be well-received," she said.

When asked about the most challenging scene to perform, Naysilla did not hesitate to mention the moment when Hanna discovers her husband's betrayal. According to her, that scene represents the lowest point in Hanna's life, who has given everything for her family.

"The husband having an affair, maybe (is the most challenging). That can be considered the heaviest scene. How do you deal with it when you have given your life, your heart, your soul, your entire self for the family, but then you are betrayed? It must be devastating," she said.

On the other hand, WeTV as the streaming platform explains that this series is not just made to evoke nostalgia. The goal is to bring back a strong story with a new touch that is more relevant to modern families.

The Country Head of WeTV Indonesia, Febriamy Hutapea, hopes that this series can be an inspirational viewing experience. He wants the audience to feel the depth of emotion from this legendary story with a fresher vibe.

Some of them include Baskara Mahendra, Amanda Rigby, Shindy Huang, Emil Kusumo, Reza Andriyanto, and Audya Ananta. The series Catatan Hati Seorang Istri will be available in 8 episodes for its first season. Don’t miss its premiere airing, which will start on August 22, 2025, exclusively on WeTV.
