No Gigs, Astrid Prepares Emergency Funds During Pandemic

"Actually, during the pandemic, we were quite productive. Maybe it's because musicians usually have creative ideas when they're in a tight spot," said Astrid at Studio 41, South Jakarta, recently.

During the pandemic, Astrid's performance schedule was canceled. Because there were no performances for months, there was no income from Astrid. In order to maintain a stable economy during the pandemic, it is necessary to manage finances wisely.

"Of course, it's not like usual, because usually our income is how much, right? But because the income has drastically decreased while the expenses haven't decreased, we managed to save quite a bit," she said.

Fortunately, the singer of the song "Jadikan Aku Yang Kedua" is someone who can manage finances. "Yes, fortunately my wife is quite good at managing finances. It turns out I didn't know she had savings during these difficult times. So, finally, we used those savings," said Astrid's husband, Arlan Jumarwan.

"Actually, this is called emergency funds, thank God we have emergency funds. But actually, emergency funds are not for this situation. But who knows there would be a condition like this. So we consider this as emergency funds," Astrid continued.

3. Implement Health Protocols

After spending approximately eight months at home, Astrid is now back to her usual activities. Moreover, Astrid has just released her latest single titled Baik Baik (Good Good). Automatically, Astrid has to do promotions, one of which is being a guest on a talk show on television.

Although there is still some concern, Astrid remains cautious when conducting activities outside the house to avoid contracting the Covid-19 virus. One thing for sure, while doing activities outside the house, Astrid strictly follows the health protocols.

"Yes, there is worry, of course. We are also being cautious because we used to stay at home a lot. Now, we are actively going everywhere. Yes, we have to implement the existing protocols, wear masks, use face shields or hand sanitizers," said Astrid.

"And then, when we arrive home, we have to take a shower. We have to do that because honestly, we never know, we might have contact with someone who is infected, and so on. But, God willing, we have been implementing all those health protocols," concluded Astrid.
