No Gigs, Superglad Band Members Keep Themselves Busy by Creating YouTube Content - Taking Care of Betta Fish

Kapanlagi.com - During the COVID-19 pandemic, several band groups in Indonesia have a lack of gig opportunities. If there are any, they only hold virtual concerts. And it's not as many as the usual off-air concerts. This is also felt by the band group Superglad.

The band consisting of Luks, Akbar, and Giox experienced the same thing as other bands, not getting gigs during the pandemic. Although not performing, Superglad remains productive and creative. They have just released a single titled Satu.

1. Acoustic Performance

However, as time went by, this Jakarta-based band started to actively hold acoustic performances during the pandemic. Recently, Superglad held a showcase at the launch event of their latest single titled Satu.

Unlike usual, Superglad only invited a few dozen people to witness the event. Even then, they had to follow strict health protocols.

"So, the impact of the pandemic is that only recently Superglad can hold virtual concerts. In the early days of the pandemic, it was very chaotic," said Luks, Superglad's vocalist, recently.

2. Doing Something New

At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, each member of Superglad did something new when they couldn't perform live. From taking care of betta fish to creating a YouTube channel. During the pandemic, Luks engaged in activities outside of music.

This father of one created a YouTube channel called Catatan Si Buluk. Not far from music, the channel provides talk shows or conversations between Luks and mostly musician guests.

"As for me, that's (creating YouTube) and taking care of my monstera plant. As for him (Giox, Superglad's bassist), he takes care of betta fish," Luks concluded.
