Not Forced, Billy Syahputra Teaches Vika Kolesnaya to Fast Slowly During Ramadan

Kapanlagi.com - Billy Syahputra shared his experience of introducing fasting to his girlfriend, Vika Kolesnaya. Although she is not used to it yet, the Belarusian influencer is trying to understand and respect those who observe fasting.

"As I said, 'just try it, don’t eat for now, but if you really can’t handle it, you can eat and drink.' You’re not used to it yet," Billy said when met in the Tendean area of South Jakarta on Tuesday (3/4/2025).

Vika is also trying to fast but admits she is still struggling because she has never done it before. She chooses to adjust gradually.

"I already said earlier, slowly, because I have never fasted. It’s hard to fast when you’re not used to it, so just little by little," Vika expressed.

Billy mentioned that on the first day of fasting, Vika still drank even though she didn’t eat. However, he never forced his partner to fast.

"She follows me, still drinks, but I also don’t push her. Because, after all, our beliefs are different," he explained.

1. Instill a Sense of Mutual Respect

While following Billy on the hot shooting location, Vika felt thirsty. However, she chose to drink quietly so as not to disturb Billy who was fasting.

"When he drank in front of me, I was really embarrassed. I said, 'It's okay, just drink.' But he said, 'I don't want to.' He was like respecting it, he's nice, he drank in the car," said Billy.

According to him, teaching Vika to fast is not about forcing, but about instilling a sense of respect for those who are performing the worship.

"She can appreciate, she is indeed smart in respecting others. Because for me, she is a good person and still learning," he added.

2. Are You Serious? 

Regarding the seriousness of his relationship with Vika, Billy admitted that he has good intentions in building the relationship. He just wants to respect each other without any element of coercion.

"If serious, then it must be serious. I'm not pushing Vika to fast during Ramadan. The point is to respect each other, even though she eats, drinks, she also quietly does it from me actually," he concluded.
