Recently, Bunga Citra Lestari was criticized by netizens for vacationing in Al Ula, an area referred to as a 'cursed place' and avoided by the Prophet. Before Unge went on vacation there, Vidi Aldiano had already stayed at a resort in Al Ula.
Regarding the designation of the place as cursed, Vidi explained that the area avoided by the Prophet is Madain Saleh. That place is quite far from the resort he visited in Al Ula.
Vidi Aldiano visited Al Ula after performing the umrah in Mecca. He went on vacation there with his wife, Sheila Dara Aisha.
When Vidi showed the location of his vacation, netizens also discussed Al Ula, which is called the 'cursed' city.
Al Ula is called a cursed place because it is where the punishment descended upon the people of Thamud, during the time of Prophet Saleh AS. However, the Al Ula region itself is actually very vast.
Vidi explained that the forbidden place is called Madain Shaleh. There is still ongoing debate among the local residents about the exact location.
In Al Ula, Vidi stayed at a luxurious resort with magnificent rocky hill views. The distance between Al Ula and Madain Shaleh itself is approximately 30 Km.
Although both in Al Ula, the criticism received by Vidi and Sheila is not as intense as the comments from netizens on Bunga Citra Lestari's post.
Vidi visited this city in January 2023. This place became the location of Vidi and Sheila's first honeymoon after officially getting married.
