Novita Dewi's Tears Broke Upon Arriving at the Funeral Home to See Her Beloved Father's Remains

Singer Novita Dewi's tears broke as soon as she arrived at the funeral home of her father, Batak music maestro, Jack Marpaung, on Monday, January 6, 2025, in the evening. Novita Dewi, who came with her husband, Alex Hutajulu, arrived at the funeral home in Pondok Mitra Lestari, South Bekasi, around 15:52 WIB after previously arranging her father's burial at San Diego Hills, Karawang. As soon as she arrived at the funeral home, Novita Dewi immediately approached her beloved father's remains. She could not hold back her tears and quickly kissed her father's face. With a trembling voice, Novita recalled all the contributions of Jack Marpaung who had guided and supported her in her music career.

"Daddy, your name has brought Dewi's career to this point for 20 years," said Novita Dewi while crying.

The departure of Jack Marpaung made Novita Dewi feel a profound loss. She kept crying and hugging her father's corpse, expressing her deep longing.   "Daddy, Dewi won't get a kiss anymore, won't be asked anymore," said Novita Dewi while sobbing.

This feeling of loss became even more evident when Novita sang as a final tribute to her father.

"In my prayers, I mention your name Jack Marpaung," said Novita Dewi, while singing heartfelt lyrics.

Not stopping there, Novita Dewi continued to call out her beloved name for her father. "Papi papi papi," she cried repeatedly.

In her tears, Novita Dewi also expressed that her father was the source of strength in her music career journey.   "God and papi are Dewi's strength to sing. My papi, papi," she said.

Jack Marpaung passed away at the age of 77 after battling a stroke. He was known as one of the maestros of Batak music who produced many legendary pop and folk Batak songs. It is planned that Jack Marpaung will be buried on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Sandiego Hill, Karawang, West Java.
