Oscar Lawalata still vividly remembers how he underwent gender reassignment surgery to become a complete woman. At that time, he was accompanied by his mother.

When he first opened his eyes after being fully anesthetized, the first person Oscar saw was his mother. He admitted that he couldn't hold back his tears at that moment.

"That's it after my surgery, when I came out of the operating room, I was completely unconscious. My mother made sure I was okay, I woke up and met my mom, I just cried," he said.
