The harmonious combination of visualization and accompanying music enriches the meaning of this production. There are about 23 songs performed throughout the episodes of the Nurbaya Musical Series, which are heavily influenced by Minang music and the pop music of the 70s, as seen in songs like Harta, Tahta, Nurbaya, Takdir, and Pilihan. In addition, there is also the dangdut music genre, which is an acculturation of Malay and Indian music in the song Etek Rahma.

"The novel Sitti Nurbaya by Marah Rusli is my main inspiration for composing the music and arranging this production. However, I also received a lot of input from the scriptwriters, directors, the Indonesia Kaya team, and other friends to enrich the musical elements of this Nurbaya Musical Series. It took about 2 months to compose the music and about 4 months for the arrangements. For me, this whole process is very touching because I had the opportunity to meet extraordinary people who are part of this production, and I highly appreciate www.indonesiakaya.com for daring to take the risk of producing a musical series during this pandemic," said Ivan Tangkulung, who plays the role of Music Composer.

Produced by Bayu Pontiagust, this project combines stage techniques and film techniques with Venytha as the theater director and Naya Anindita as the film director.
