In an interview with the Fimela team, Irma shared the process of making Sasirangan fabric, which is indeed full of detail and artistic value. "It is woven one by one, so if you pay attention, there are white dots that are not colored. Those are not defects, but part of the technique," explained Irmasari.

But what is most interesting for Irmasari is not just its visuals. "There is a story behind it. It's not just about beauty, but also philosophy. We come to know that what we wear has meaning," she said. She also admitted to having traced the philosophy of this fabric, which is closely tied to the message of safety.

The fashion collection titled 'Echoes of Borneo' is Irmasari Joedawinata's way of expressing the natural wealth of Kalimantan through the region's traditional textile, namely Sasirangan fabric from South Kalimantan. "Through this collection, it continues to be represented considering Indonesia has many beauties," she stated.

On the Selaras Wastra stage, Irma showcased 10 pieces from the Echoes of Borneo collection. One of them was specially worn by the Chairperson of the Dekranasda of South Kalimantan Province, Hj. Fathul Jannah Muhidin. Irma shared that this motif looks more glamorous, enhanced with gold leaf and a touch of elegant pink.

For Irmasari, introducing Indonesian textiles to the world is not just about visuals, but also about the stories that accompany them. She also admitted that her understanding of the philosophy of the fabric came when she truly touched and processed it herself.

The South Kalimantan Provincial Government Continues to Open Collaboration Opportunities

As a speaker at the inspiring talk show on Textile Stories, Hj. Fathul Jannah Muhidin emphasized the efforts of the South Kalimantan Provincial Government to continue developing their textiles and local SMEs. One way is by opening collaboration spaces with various parties.

"To develop Sasirangan batik, we from the Provincial Government, Dekranasda, and the central Dekranasda continue to strive for collaboration to develop local SMEs. So that our textiles can be better known. Now, it is also the era of social media, so that our textiles can be more recognized. We also continue to collaborate with other relevant agencies to reach SMEs so they can be recognized and go international. Hopefully, our craftsmen can follow the existing trends," explained the figure affectionately known as Ibu Fathul.
