Officially Divorced by Default, Here's the Reason Rieta Amilia and Basuki Widjaja Separated

Kapanlagi.com - The divorce trial of Nagita Slavina's mother, Rieta Amilia, against Basuki Widjaja Kusuma was just held at the South Jakarta Religious Court on Thursday (14/4/2022). In the trial, the judges of the South Jakarta Religious Court granted the divorce lawsuit filed by Raffi Ahmad's mother-in-law.

The spokesperson for the South Jakarta Religious Court, Taslimah, said that the trial was only attended by Rieta Amilia's legal representative. Meanwhile, Basuki as the defendant did not attend the trial. Therefore, Rieta Amilia and Basuki Widjaja were divorced by default by the judges.

"For this case, the trial has ended and has been decided without the presence of the defendant. The defendant did not attend and did not appoint anyone as their legal representative. Therefore, it has been decided without the presence of the defendant," said Taslimah on Thursday (14/4/2022).

1. Widjaja Kusuma Did Not Attend the Trial

Rieta Amilia's divorce trial was completed in just two hearings. This is because her husband, Widjaja Kusuma, as the defendant did not attend the trial. Although the divorce has been granted, the defendant can still file an appeal if they object to the decision of the judges.

"The plaintiff's request has been granted. The plaintiff knows this. The defendant is also informed by the court. So, if there is an appeal or objection or legal action, if the defendant does not take any legal action, then the decision is not yet final," said Taslimah.

2. Reasons for Divorce

Previously, Rieta Amilia filed for divorce from her husband, Basuki Widjaja Kusuma, on March 22, 2022. However, the divorce petition was only registered in the South Jakarta PA the following day, on May 23, 2022. So, what are the reasons for Rieta Amalia and Basuki Widjaja Kusuma's separation?

"What is clear is that during this marriage, there have been events. There has been a legal bond as husband and wife as legal standing for both parties. So there are events that make the defendant and plaintiff experience disharmony or disunity," said Taslimah.
