Once Declared Cured of Cancer, 10 Portraits of Kiki Fatmala's Struggle Who Underwent Chemotherapy 25 Times

The late Kiki Fatmala had been fighting against the cancer she had since 2021. The doctors previously declared that the cancer had disappeared after undergoing chemotherapy.

Unfortunately, the cancer has spread more aggressively in December 2022 and reached the brain. After that, Kiki Fatmala underwent chemotherapy again.

"Kiki underwent chemotherapy 25 times, but it spread from the lungs to her brain. There are no other medications for her brain," said Christopher, Kiki Fatmala's husband at Siloam Hospital, South Jakarta, on Friday (1/12/2023).

"The last time (chemotherapy) was in October, but the cancer has already spread," added Anna Anggi Laura, Kiki Fatmala's sister.

Kiki Fatmala's condition has been deteriorating for the past 5 weeks. Eventually, she became unconscious and fell into a coma.

"Five weeks ago she was already down, and this week she went into a coma," said Anna.

Although she was already in a coma, Kiki Fatmala was not taken to the hospital. Apparently, this was a direct request from Kiki Fatmala herself who had given up on the lung cancer she was suffering from.

"She doesn't want to be treated in the hospital anymore. And we made the decision not to be treated in the hospital and to be treated at home until the end," explained Christopher.

During her time at home, the family always accompanied Kiki Fatmala. Finally, Kiki Fatmala is no longer in pain because on Saturday, December 1, 2023, at around 05.00 AM WIB, Kiki Fatmala took her last breath at the age of 56.

"Kiki Fatmala passed away this morning at 5 am due to lung cancer that has spread. She has been fighting for two years, in the last month she couldn't anymore, she gave up because of her illness," Anna concluded.
