Once Enemies, Irma Darmawangsa Invited Barbie Kumalasari to Duet Launch Single 'Mau Gue Buang'

Irma Darmawangsa explained the reason behind choosing Barbie Kumalasari as her duet partner. The 40-year-old woman admitted that Barbie suddenly invited her to create a work together.

"In the past, Irma had a quarrel or was enemies with Barbie, but in the end, we both apologized for our mistakes and now we are good friends," said Irma when met in Jakarta recently.

1. Conflicts Must Be Resolved

Irma mentioned that the reason Barbie invited her to collaborate was as an effort to show the public that conflicts must be resolved and should not be buried for too long.

"So I think there is a unique challenge in dueting with her," added Irma.

Furthermore, Irma shared that the single "Mau Gue Buang" tells the story of a stingy man who only wants to enjoy himself without wanting to lose anything.

"The song is about a man who is stingy, only wants the fun but doesn't want to lose. So if a girl gets a guy like that, it's better to just throw him away, rather than regret it later," explained Irma.

2. Well Received

This latest single carries the genre of modern dangdut remix. Irma explained that although Barbie Kumalasari is not a singer with deep vocal experience, she still tries to provide direction so that Barbie's vocals can blend well.

"Well, her basic is not a singer, so I need to guide her vocals so that the technique is right and can blend with Irma's voice," she said.

Irma is grateful that the launch of this song has been well received by fans. Irma reported that the response from the public has been very positive.

"The responses have also been mostly positive from the comments on YouTube. And on TikTok too, there are already hundreds of people using the background sound of the song 'Mau Gue Buang' to make their TikTok videos," concluded Irma.
