The news of Epy Kusnandar's passing on Wednesday (3/12/2025) shocked many. However, behind that, a surprising fact about the actor's health condition was revealed by his friend, Oppie Kumis.

Oppie Kumis revealed that Epy Kusnandar once talked about the doctor's prognosis he received three years ago. At that time, the doctor predicted that the actor, who played the character Kang Mus in the soap opera PREMAN PENSIUN, would not live much longer.

"I was sick, Yan (or another nickname)... then I was told that my life wouldn't be long. I said that three years ago. Thank God, before it was said I had six months according to the doctor, and here I am, I've already passed three years," Oppie expressed, mimicking the late Epy's words.

Hearing that, Oppie admitted to being very impressed by Epy's extraordinary spirit of life. Even though he was diagnosed that way, Epy never showed fear or despair. Instead, he lived his life casually and full of enthusiasm.

"That means his spirit of life is extraordinary. He keeps giving us encouragement. Just relax, your head is bald, you look ugly, like that," recalled Oppie.

Oppie also highlighted Epy's lifestyle, which seemed to be 'go for it' when it came to food, as if there were no restrictions even though his health condition was not optimal.

"I see he has no restrictions. Go for it, he says. Eat satay, eat whatever, go for it," said the 64-year-old comedian.

Nevertheless, Epy is known to keep his mind very relaxed and stress-free. This is what Oppie believes to be one of the keys to his friend's physical resilience all this time.

"We need to lose a bit with our thoughts, we need to be a bit relaxed with our thoughts," added Oppie.

Unfortunately, fate had other plans. Epy Kusnandar had to return to face the Creator, leaving behind memories of his indomitable spirit for life.
