Paid Professional, Inul Daratista Reveals Reasons for Choosing Chef Firhan as Cook at Home

Chef Firhan is known to have been working with Inul since 2020. Since then, he has been regularly cooking various menus every day, ranging from Asian food, Indonesian food, to western food. Despite having a personal chef, Inul admits that she still often gets involved in her home kitchen. She even frequently collaborates on cooking with Chef Firhan and considers that activity to be enjoyable.

"I've been with Chef Firhan for 5 years. Yes (I cook) anything. Yes, anything. Asian food, Indonesian food, western food. Because besides him cooking, sometimes he collaborates and shares cooking with me too," said Inul Daratista when met in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (8/4/2025).

The mother of one revealed that the requests for cooking more often come from her child. Meanwhile, she prefers to taste and enjoy the food that has been prepared.   "For me, if the chef cooks, it’s usually based on my child's request, while I just taste it because we have a cooking program too, so it’s already common for me," said Inul.

Inul admitted that she has met many chefs from various cooking events and friendships. However, there is a specific reason why she ultimately chose to collaborate with Chef Firhan.

"Actually, I have many friends who are chefs, and each of them has their own character, but Chef Firhan is someone who goes all out," she said.   "His cooking is driven by passion and the variety of dishes he prepares is diverse. So I prefer him because he doesn’t just focus on one type of dish," she added.

The initial meeting between Inul and Chef Firhan happened accidentally at a television station. Since then, they have continued to establish a professional collaboration for kitchen matters at home.   "We met through a television station. That's just how it is," Inul said.

Regarding the payment for her personal chef, Inul does not want to take it lightly. She emphasizes that professionalism must be maintained even though they have known each other for quite some time.

"Well, we have to appreciate someone who has credibility as a senior cook, senior chefs, so if it comes to honorarium, it should be appropriate. It shouldn't be just because we're friends and then paid arbitrarily, no. Just be professional," she concluded.
