Paula Verhoeven, known as Baim Wong's wife, recently shared her inspiring hijrah journey. Her decision to wear the hijab came after she performed umrah during Ramadan 2024, and since then, Paula has been consistent in wearing the hijab on various occasions. Read the full story!
"When I did umrah with Baim, I actually already had the desire to wear the hijab. But sometimes there are obstacles, like I feel, 'Isn't it complicated when I want to do wudhu?' and I often feel, 'Isn't it hot?' I used to complain like that," Paula Verhoeven shared on Rumpi No Secret, as reported by the TRANS TV Official YouTube channel.
To Feni Rose, Paula admitted that she has long had the desire to wear a hijab. This mother of two also shared with her friends.
"My friends said, 'Don't worry, Pau, it will come to you on its own,' that's what they said. So there I was, waiting for that guidance, I know that wearing a hijab is an obligation for a Muslim, but I was still searching...," Paula said.
Paula Verhoeven continues to seek guidance. She expressed her fear of death. Then, Paula got the opportunity to perform Umrah for the second time, and she made this moment to pray for her heart to be steadfast.
"I prayed again, during the tawaf I really, oh Allah, want to strengthen my heart to wear a hijab. People say we should change ourselves before turning 40, so as much as possible I want to do it before I'm 40. Yes, it's a process, I hope to remain steadfast," she concluded. Â
Paula Verhoeven admitted that there is a role of her husband, Baim Wong, in her process of hijrahnya. Paula mentioned that Baim introduced Islam in an extraordinary way and supported her decision to wear the hijab.
