Plaintiff: Peace Efforts with Vidi Aldiano Have Hit a Dead End, Lawsuit Reaches Supreme Court

Kapanlagi.com - The legal case between Keenan Nasution and the late Vidi Aldiano regarding the song Nuansa Bening has indeed gone through a long process before finally reaching the courtroom. Keenan's attorney, Minola Sebayang, revealed that peace efforts had actually been made, but they encountered a dead end.

According to Minola, intensive communication actually occurred during the summons stage, long before the lawsuit was filed in the Commercial Court. At that time, both parties were trying to find a common ground to resolve the issue amicably.

"During the summons stage, we were indeed very intensive in communicating, trying to find a common ground to resolve the issue in a good and peaceful manner," said Minola Sebayang when met in the Tebet area, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (18/03/2026).

1. No Agreement Found

Unfortunately, during the process, no agreement was reached that could satisfy both parties. This failure of mediation ultimately pushed Keenan Nasution's side to pursue formal legal action.

"However, at that time, there was no consensus reached, so in order for the legal efforts to have an endpoint, not to stop halfway and be left hanging, we filed a lawsuit with the Commercial Court," he explained.

2. Minimal Communication

After the official lawsuit was registered, communication between the two camps actually became even more minimal. Each side chose to focus on the ongoing trial process.

"After we entered the lawsuit in the Commercial Court, we indeed had minimal communication with the late Vidi, with his management, and with his legal representatives," said Minola.

3. Reached the Supreme Court Level

Now, after passing through the first level court and appeal, the case has reached the cassation level at the Supreme Court. Keenan Nasution remains steadfast in its position to seek legal certainty over the copyright they are fighting for.

Although Vidi Aldiano has passed away, this legal process will continue until there is a binding final decision. This shows how complex copyright disputes in the music industry can be, often difficult to resolve outside of court.
