Darius Sinathrya Reveals His Son's Struggle to Become a Soccer Player: Lionel is Starting to Get Playing Time

Darius and Donna always monitor their children's development as soccer players in Braga, Portugal. Darius also shares the struggle of his son, who has now transferred clubs.

"After struggling with many things throughout the early season, slowly but surely since last December,@lionel.sinathrya has started to feel more comfortable in his new club," he wrote in an Instagram post on Saturday (14/3).

"Starting to get playing minutes, to becoming a key player who is only substituted for rotation needs throughout 2026," he continued.

Throughout 2026, Lionel has only been taken off the field for rotation needs, an achievement that shows the coach's trust in his abilities.

"Well, the struggle has just begun, this summer will be very exciting yet challenging and in the midst of time constraints due to school schedules, Lio is always committed to the training schedule every day. The three of us along with Diego also routinely analyze training or match results, evaluating to continue developing in all aspects," Darius explained.

Darius also emphasizes the importance of balance between praise and criticism in the learning process. He always gives appreciation when Lionel performs well, but is also not hesitant to provide honest feedback as material for evaluation.

"There are targets to achieve, there are dreams that Lio wants to pursue, Papa & Mama will always be there as the best supporters who will always cheer him on, accompany him, and also provide objective input," wrote Darius in his personal Instagram post.
