Police Find Empty 'Whipping Cream' Gas Cylinder at Lula Lahfah's Crime Scene, Contains Nitrous Oxide

A large pink gas cylinder weighing 2,050 grams has become one of the mysterious pieces of evidence found in the apartment room of the late Lula Lahfah. The police have finally disclosed the results of the laboratory examination of the cylinder, which is suspected to be a whipping cream cylinder.

KP Irfan Rofik from the Toxicology Unit of the Bareskrim Polri Puslabfor revealed that upon inspection, the cylinder found at the crime scene was empty. However, investigators then provided a comparative cylinder of the same brand and production for content analysis.

"For the pink cylinder, during our inspection of the empty condition. But from the investigator, we were given one with the same brand from the same production, we examined the gas cylinder as a comparison, it contains Nitrous Oxide (N2O) in that cylinder," revealed Irfan Rofik when met at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Friday (30/01/2026).

Nitrous Oxide or N2O is often known as laughing gas, which in the food industry is used as a propellant for whipped cream. However, this substance is also frequently misused for recreational purposes due to the temporary euphoric effects it produces.

Nevertheless, the police cannot conclude whether Lula consumed the gas just before dying because an autopsy was not performed on the body. The discovery of this empty cylinder is only one clue regarding the activities or items present around the victim.

In addition to gas cylinders, the police also examined 4 bottles of liquid and 8 vape pods of various brands. All of the evidence was confirmed to only contain common electronic cigarette ingredients such as nicotine and glycerin, without any mixtures of narcotics or other harmful substances.

"For the eight pods of various brands and types, glycerin and nicotine were found. Then for the bottles of liquid from various brands, the findings were the same: nicotine and glycerin," added Irfan.

The case of the discovery of Lula Lahfah's body in her apartment indeed sparked public attention, especially regarding the cause of her death. The police conducted a series of laboratory tests to ensure that no illegal substances were involved.
