Police Reveal Motive of Perpetrator of Spread of Video Similar to Gisel's Nude Video, Turns Out They Just Want to Increase Followers

Kapanlagi.com - The police have identified two suspects who spread a nude video allegedly similar to Gisella Anastasia. They are currently conducting further investigations to delve into this case.

"Yes, because the (spreader) is still widespread, we will move on to the first person who spread it and the person who made it. Yes, there are still others, we are still continuing the investigation into other perpetrators. Based on the examination of the suspects, our plan for the future is to call in expert witnesses in the field of information technology, to shed more light on this matter," said the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metro Police, Kombes Pol Yusri Yunus, on Friday (11/13).

1. Want to Increase Followers

When investigating the motives of the perpetrators in spreading a video similar to Gisel's scandalous video, it turns out their intentions were very simple. Both perpetrators only wanted to increase the number of followers on their social media accounts.

"We are still investigating further. But from these two suspects, initially they received it from one of their social media accounts, both of them. Then they shared it massively, for the motive according to their confession, it was to increase followers, the second one was to participate in giveaways or quizzes, according to them, but we are still investigating further," Yusri continued.

2. Investigating the Report

Regarding the continuation of the two reports on the alleged Gisel-like case, the police are still investigating. Now they are focusing on the spread on Twitter, which was reported by P and FD.

"There are two reporters here, the first one is FD's sibling who reported five accounts. Then there's P's sibling who reported five accounts as well, there are some accounts that have been deleted but we are still investigating because, as I said, digital traces will never disappear," explained Yusri.

"The question now is whether what was reported by FD and P can be determined as suspects in this case, because it has already moved from the investigation stage to the prosecution stage, based on the initial case title, it has moved up because it fulfills the suspicion elements in Article 27 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 45 of Law No. 19 of 2016 concerning ITE. Then there is Article 4 in conjunction with Article 29, and Article 8 and Article 34 in Law No. 44 of 2008 concerning Pornography," he concluded.
