Secured by the Police, the Thief of Tantri Kotak's Bike Turns Out to be Underage

Kapanlagi.com - Tantri Kotak finally can breathe a sigh of relief because the perpetrator of her father's bike theft has been arrested by the police. However, Tantri still regrets the incident because the perpetrator is still underage.

"The perpetrator is still underage, still a child. Mischievous kids, you know," said Tantri when met at the Karawaci Police Station, Tangerang, on Saturday (7/11).

1. Already Forgiving

Because they did not suffer any losses, Tantri Kotak and her family have stated that they have forgiven the perpetrator. However, the legal process for the bike thief continues to proceed.

"God willing, we have forgiven and pray that he does not repeat his mistake. But for the legal process, it is handed over to the police," said the wife of Arda Naff.

2. Child Detention Procedure

Based on the statement from the Karawaci Police Chief, Inspector Yulies, the perpetrator will be charged under the child law. The perpetrator was not acting alone. They were assisted by three other individuals in stealing the bike.

"The article applied is Article 363 of the Criminal Code. We refer to the juvenile justice system. This includes the procedures for detaining a child, filing documents, and so on. AD was the picker or the one who took the bike, assisted by AN. Then they sold it online through AL, and F received the proceeds of their crime," explained Inspector Yulies.

Because the perpetrators are still underage, the police did not show their faces. The same goes for Tantri Kotak, who also refused to see the face of the thief who stole her father's bike.
