Police Unveils Nanang Gimbal Fled Aimlessly, Cut Communication with Family

The Metro Jaya Police finally revealed the chronology of the suspect's escape, who was captured after being on the run. Nanang was known to have fled without a specific destination and intentionally cut off communication with his family.

"So he fled without a specific purpose, he fled randomly while calming himself during the escape," said the Head of the Metro Jaya Police's Resmob Subdivision, Kompol Resa Fiyardi, at a press conference at the Metro Jaya Police, South Jakarta, Thursday (16/1/2025).

1. Suspect Decides to Cut Communication

Commissar Resa also explained that the suspect decided to cut communication with his family to avoid detection by the police. This step made the tracking efforts for Nanang more difficult at the beginning of the search.

"If searching is certain, but coincidentally the suspect cut communication with the family," added Commissar Resa.

2. Suspect's Wife Was at Home During the Incident

Director of Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Wira Satya, revealed that at the time of the incident, the suspect's wife was at home and did not witness the murder committed by her husband directly.

"At the time of the incident, the suspect's wife was inside the house, so she did not witness it," said Kombes Pol Wira.

3. Background of Nanang's Work

Furthermore, Kombes Wira explained the suspect's work background. Nanang is known to work as a chicken farmer. In addition, he also seeks additional income by being a motorcycle taxi driver.

"The suspect works daily as an ordinary chicken farmer. Besides that, he also looks for extra income by being a motorcycle taxi driver, something like that," he explained.

4. Knife in Murder Action

Regarding the knife used in the murder action, Kombes Wira stated that the knife is a daily tool usually kept in the suspect's chicken coop.

"This knife is indeed in the chicken coop and is a common tool placed in the chicken coop, so it remains there," he said.

5. The Suspect's Escape Lacks Purpose

The escape of Nanang, which extended into the Karawang area, was finally stopped by the Metro Jaya Police Resmob team. During his escape, the suspect had no specific destination and just wanted to get away from the crime scene to calm down.

"He ran away randomly while trying to calm himself during the escape," said Kompol Resa.
