Portrait of Artists Involved in Alleged Online Gambling Promotion Cases, Including Denny Cagur and Amanda Manopo

Recently, comedian and member of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Denny Cagur, has come under public scrutiny after being involved in an online gambling case. During the investigation conducted by the authorities, Denny claimed he was unaware that the site involved was a gambling site. He also emphasized that he has fully handed over the investigation process to the police and is ready to follow all existing legal procedures.

Nikita Mirzani is also mentioned as one of the controversial celebrities involved in the alleged promotion of online gambling. She was first embroiled in this issue in 2017 and again in 2024. The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indonesian National Police revealed that they have examined Nikita Mirzani. The examination of this mother of three was conducted as part of the investigation into the alleged illegal activities.

In 2023, Wulan Guritno was questioned by the police regarding allegations of promoting online gambling in content created in 2020. She claimed to feel confused because the content in question was made several years earlier. During the questioning, she thought the site being promoted was an online game. Wulan also provided clarification, expressing her happiness to have the opportunity to clarify this issue.

In 2023, Yuki Kato was also questioned regarding allegations of her involvement in promoting online gambling and attended a summons from the Criminal Investigation Agency of the National Police. However, Yuki Kato did not provide an explanation regarding the reason for her summons. Nevertheless, the Director of Cyber Crime at the Criminal Investigation Agency confirmed that the summons was still related to the promotion of online gambling.

The star of the series PAYLATER, Amanda Manopo, responded to a summons from the Bareskrim Polri in 2023 for questioning regarding her alleged involvement in promoting online gambling. In her clarification, Amanda explained that she was not aware that the site she promoted was actually an online gambling site. During the examination, she admitted that she thought the site was just a gaming platform and did not realize that it was related to gambling activities.

Dewi Perssik was once involved in a controversy related to the alleged promotion of online gambling. She confirmed that she had been summoned by the police for questioning regarding the case. Dewi claimed that she did not know that the endorsement she received was related to online gambling. She also mentioned that this incident occurred around 2020, but only recently resurfaced in the public eye, although at that time she was unaware of any connection to gambling.

Dinar Candy revealed her shocking experience when she was summoned by the police regarding allegations of promoting online gambling. The incident occurred in 2017, where she felt surprised when asked to appear at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters as a witness in an online gambling case.  

In 2017, Tyas Mirasih, known as an actress and presenter, once uploaded content promoting an online gambling site. After receiving sharp criticism, she deleted the post in response to public backlash. Although Tyas did not directly explain the reasons behind her post, she seemed to feel the need to quickly correct that step to maintain her reputation and avoid greater negative impacts.
