The legal journey of the legendary musician, Fariz RM, has finally reached its final chapter. In the verdict hearing held at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday (11/10/2025), Fariz RM was found guilty of drug abuse that has ensnared him again.

This became a moment of fate for the 66-year-old musician, after facing similar cases in the past. In the solemn hearing, the panel of judges firmly stated that Fariz RM was proven guilty.

The panel of judges led by Lusiana Amping read the verdict stating that Fariz RM has legally and convincingly committed a narcotics crime.

"It is stated that the defendant Fariz Rustam Munaf alias Fariz RM has been proven legally and convincingly guilty of committing a crime together in the right to plant and not plants as stated in the first indictment," he said during the trial at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday (11/10/2025).

For his actions, Fariz RM was sentenced to 10 months in prison. Not only that, he is also required to pay a fine of a very large amount, reaching Rp 800 million, which is lighter than the prosecutor's demand of 6 years in prison.

The sentence may increase if Fariz RM is unable to pay the imposed fine.

The panel of judges decided that if the fine is not paid, it will be replaced with an additional imprisonment sentence of 2 months.

The panel of judges also ordered that Fariz RM remain in custody. However, the sentence to be served will be reduced by the time spent in arrest and detention that he has already undergone.

In the ruling, several pieces of evidence such as three clips of methamphetamine weighing 0.89 grams, one package of marijuana weighing 4.76 grams, and two mobile phones were ordered to be destroyed.

Meanwhile, another piece of evidence in the form of a BCA ATM card was returned to the defendant. Fariz RM was also ordered to pay court fees amounting to Rp 5,000.
