Gustika Fardani Jusuf was born on January 19, 1994. She is the direct granddaughter of the Proclamator and the first Vice President of Indonesia, Mohammad Hatta or Bung Hatta. Gustika's mother is Halida Nuriah Hatta, the youngest of Hatta and Rahmi Hatta's three daughters.

This 31-year-old woman is indeed known to be critical and active since her youth. In 2012, she became Indonesia's young delegate at the UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP18) in Qatar. The following year, she represented Indonesia at the 8th UNESCO Youth Forum.

This international footprint became stronger after she pursued higher education abroad. Gustika obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in War Studies from King’s College London (2015).

In her professional journey, Gustika interned at the Indonesian Delegation to UNESCO, as well as at Indonesia's Permanent Mission to the UN. From 2020 to 2022, she was active at the human rights organization Imparsial, focusing on research regarding security sector reform, Papua issues, and political violence.

For her contributions, Gustika has received various prestigious awards, such as the ASEAN Youth Fellowship (2018) and a training scholarship from The Hague Academy (2022).

Recently, Gustika protested subtly by wearing a slobog batik, which is often used in funeral ceremonies, despite attending the 80th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony at the State Palace.

Gustika wore the batik as a form of silent protest against the unresolved human rights violations in this country.

Gustika is also known as a cat lover. She often posts photos with her cats on her social media.

As an activist, Gustika is said to enjoy reading books and has a lot of books stored in her closet. Sometimes, Gustika reads books while accompanied by her beloved cat.
