Figures and artists continue to arrive at the funeral home of Bimbim Slank in the Potlot area, South Jakarta. On Monday (28/4/2025). In addition to the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, senior musician Iwan Fals was also present to pay his last respects to Mother Iffet.
Iwan Fals's arrival at Potlot serves as a form of moral support to Bimbim and the family who are grieving. He arrived at the location around 15:48 WIB and was warmly welcomed by Bimbim Slank.
In that atmosphere of mourning, Iwan Fals managed to hug Bimbim as an expression of empathy and an effort to strengthen his friend. He fully understands the deep sense of loss that Bimbim is now feeling after the passing of his mother, Bunda Iffet.
Regarding the news of Bunda Iffet's passing, Iwan Fals's wife, Rosanna, recounted that they heard it while they were in Solo. At that time, the couple was indeed engaged in musical activities during a concert event.
"We heard that Bunda Iffet passed away while we were in Solo. There was a Gaung Merah concert in Solo," said Rosanna in Potlot, South Jakarta, on Monday (27/4/2025).
When reminiscing about the last meeting with Bunda Iffet, Rosanna admitted that it had been quite a while since they last met in person. She mentioned that the moment of their meeting happened accidentally when they were at an airport."The last meeting was a long time ago. Once during a trip, (we) met at the airport," she said.
Meanwhile, regarding the figure of Bunda Iffet in the eyes of Iwan Fals' family, both Iwan and Rosanna agree that the late Bunda Iffet was a person full of kindness. "A kind-hearted Bunda," said Rosanna.
For Iwan Fals himself, Bunda Iffet holds a very deep meaning in the journey of his career and the life of the music community in the country. He conveyed that without figures like Bunda Iffet, many good things might not have been created."If there was no Bunda, there would be no us," said Iwan Fals.
As is known, Bunda Iffet or Iffet Veceha Sidharta passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the age of 87. Her body was then buried on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at TPU Karet Bivak, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.
After the funeral procession, Bimbim Slank shared a story about the moments leading up to his mother's passing. He revealed that Mother Iffet had not woken up from her usual sleep, until she was finally rushed to the hospital.
"Yes, Mother passed away last night at 10:42 PM WIB. After Monday morning arrived, she didn't wake up. Usually by 8-9 AM she would be in a wheelchair going next door to sunbathe, but this time she didn't wake up," said Bimbim at TPU Karet Bivak, Central Jakarta.
Feeling that something was wrong, the family quickly decided to take Mother Iffet to the hospital. At that time, there was a positive development that gave hope to the family.
"We were scared, in the end, we took her to the hospital. The next day she woke up talking, telling stories, everyone was called, laughing. The hospital doctor evaluated why," said Bimbim.
However, this condition did not last long, as Mother Iffet's health began to decline again. On the sixth day of treatment, the doctor recommended that she be admitted to the High Care Unit (HCU) for more intensive care.
"Actually, on the second day, there was nothing wrong, but by the sixth day, she had to go to HCU. Two days earlier, she had already requested to go home. In the end, we discussed it, and decided to let her go home, and according to the doctor," said Bimbim.
