After the traditional request for blessings from her mother and siblings, Luna Maya held her siraman ceremony. This event was conducted in Javanese tradition, but utilized Balinese penjor.
During the siraman ceremony, Luna looked beautiful and full of laughter. The event took place in Bali, with Luna's family and invited guests from various places, on Tuesday, (6/5).
Luna Maya offered prayers before the siraman ceremony took place. One of her prayers was for offspring and a happy family. "O Allah, grant us good offspring, who are devoted to You, obedient to their parents, and beneficial to religion, nation, and state," said Luna.
The Maya village, Luna's mother mixes water from 7 sources and flowers of 7 kinds. The water is taken from Luna's house, her paternal grandmother's house, Luna's office, her mother's house, a mosque, and also from the venue where the wedding ceremony will take place.
At the moment of the pouring ritual, Luna looked beautiful in a jasmine dress. Meanwhile, her sister-in-law and mother wore dusty pink kebayas.
The first pouring was done by Luna's mother, guided by the wedding coordinator. Luna's mother, who is of Austrian descent, followed the coordinator's instructions smoothly.
Luna's mother performed the initial pouring thoroughly. Starting from pouring on both shoulders, which signifies that Luna can bear the burdens of life well. Then it continued with the head, so that she can think with a cool head.
After that, Luna kissed her mother's cheek and hand as a sign of love and devotion as a daughter. This ceremony went smoothly and solemnly.
Finally, her mother poured water from a jug over Luna's entire body without interruption, ending with Luna performing ablution. After that, Desa Made broke the jug used to pour water on Luna, as a sign of breaking her daughter's 'pamor' before marriage.
After breaking the jug, the wedding organizer mentioned that Luna's first child is likely to be a boy. This was indicated by the pieces of the jug broken by Desa Made. Hearing this, Luna laughed.
After all the bathing ceremonies were completed, Desa Made cut Luna's hair. Later, Luna's hair will be combined with Maxime's hair and buried, so that the bad is buried and goodness grows.
The final ceremony of the water blessing is the carrying of the bride performed by her two older siblings. They all laughed during the carrying ceremony which was quite a distance apart.
