Ahead of her wedding to Maxime Bouttier, today Luna Maya held a wedding siraman ceremony with her family on Tuesday, (6/5). The event took place in Bali, but followed Javanese customs like the birthplace of Luna's late father.
Before the siraman ceremony began, Luna bowed to her mother and asked for her blessings. This ceremony was flooded with tears of emotion, as both Luna and her mother cried together.
Luna Maya entered the venue for the water blessing accompanied by her two older sisters. They chose outfits in shades of pink.
Luna's mother, Desa Maya, also wore a kebaya and styled her hair in a bun. Before the water blessing ceremony began, Luna asked for her mother's blessing.
"My beloved mother, whom I always love and respect. On this happy day, allow me to express what is in my heart. There are no perfect words to describe my gratitude to the parents I love so dearly. Who have cared for me since I was born, who have guided my steps from childhood to adulthood, to become who I am today, which you have done wholeheartedly. I apologize for all the mistakes I have made, whether intentional or not. I hope to be forgiven from the depths of your heart," said Luna while shedding tears.
"I also ask for blessings to marry my fiancé, Maxime Bouttier. I ask for blessings on our good intentions to marry. And I pray to Allah SWT, that my family always finds happiness in life, forever. Mom, thank you so much, I know I can be hard sometimes. But I apologize to you. Please give your blessing to me and my fiancé. I hope you can forgive me. Thank you very much, mom, thank you very much," continued Luna, which made her mother unable to hold back tears of emotion.
After asking for her mother's blessings, Luna washed her mother's feet. She did this as a child's devotion before stepping into marriage.
Not only did she bow down, but Luna also kissed her mother's feet. During this ceremony, not only Luna and Maya's village were crying, but the guests were also moved to tears.
After kissing her mother’s feet, Luna wiped the tears from the cheeks of the woman who gave birth to her. Then Luna smiled beautifully.
Filled with affection, Luna kissed her mother’s cheeks. Then she asked for blessings from her two older siblings with a kiss and warm hugs.
After the ceremonial blessing, Luna's family gathered and took a photo together. After this, Luna will have a cleansing session before her wedding with Maxime.
