Vadel Badjideh has officially been detained after being named a suspect in a case of alleged sexual intercourse with a minor. The family has submitted a request for a suspension of detention, but until now Vadel remains in custody.
The Acting Head of Public Relations of South Jakarta Police, Kompol Nurma Dewi, stated that the request for suspension is the right of Vadel's family.
"It has been submitted, that is indeed the right of the family," said Nurma at the South Jakarta Police, Friday (14/2/2025).
The suspension was filed after the investigator officially detained Vadel. "It was done yesterday, it has been submitted to the investigator," he said.
This case began from a report made by Nikita Mirzani at the South Jakarta Police on September 12, 2024. The report is registered under the number LP/B/2811/IX/2024/SPKT/POLRES METRO JAKSEL/POLDA METRO JAYA.
In her report, Nikita accused Vadel of committing sexual intercourse with a minor and involvement in abortion. Her daughter, Laura Meizani, is the victim in this case.
After Vadel was examined during the investigation stage, the police immediately held a case presentation. From the results of the case presentation, the police named Vadel as a suspect.
After being designated as a suspect, Vadel was immediately detained by the police. The police have charged him under Article 76D in conjunction with Article 81 paragraph 1 of the Child Protection Law. With this article, Vadel faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
