Venna Melinda's career began in 1988 when she played the role of Priska in the film 'Catatan Si Boy II'.

From there, her career skyrocketed, culminating in her being crowned as Puteri Indonesia 1994. This victory took her to the Miss Universe pageant in the Philippines, further solidifying her name in the entertainment industry.

After winning the beauty contest, Venna starred in various popular soap operas, including 'Tersanjung' and 'Bella Vista'. In addition, she tried her luck in the music world by releasing albums and establishing her own record label.

In 2009, Venna decided to enter the political arena by joining the Democratic Party. She was elected as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives and placed in Commission I, which deals with foreign affairs and defense issues. During her tenure, Venna actively advocated for education for underprivileged children and frequently conducted social visits to various regions, including Bantar Gebang.

After her term ended, Venna was re-elected for a second term from 2014 to 2019. She served on Commission X, which focuses on education and culture. However, in 2018, she made a controversial move by switching to the NasDem Party. This decision sparked various speculations about her political direction moving forward.

Venna stepped back into the political arena by running for a legislative seat from the Perindo Party for the 2024 elections. She is contesting from the East Java VI electoral district, which includes Blitar, Kediri, and Tulungagung.

Through her social media accounts, Venna often conveys inspirational messages to women, encouraging them not to be afraid to take roles in the political world. She believes that women have a great capacity to create and bring about positive change.

Venna Melinda is running as a legislative candidate in the 2024 elections from the Perindo Party in the East Java VI electoral district. She successfully garnered 13,989 votes, which is the highest among Perindo candidates in that district. However, according to various sources, a significant challenge arose as the Perindo Party failed to meet the 4% national parliamentary threshold, making Venna's chances of reaching the Senayan very slim. Additionally, her vote count is still far behind candidates from other parties in her electoral district.
