Kapanlagi.com - Artist Kriss Hatta is celebrating Christmas again with his family at Sumber Kasih Church, Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta, on Saturday (25/12/2021). It is known that previously, Kriss Hatta converted to Islam when he married Hilda Vitria. However, Kriss Hatta returned to his previous religion that he believed in back in 2019.

"Today is better than last year, last year, I celebrated secretly with my mother. Today, I have started to be open (change of faith) on social media, also open to friends," said Kriss Hatta, at Sumber Kasih Church, Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta, on Saturday (25/12/2021).

1. Already Able to Accept Christmas Jobs

Kriss Hatta said he felt relieved after revealing his change of faith again. Previously, many people still thought that Kriss Hatta was still embracing Islam.

"Now I feel more relieved, no need to pretend, you could say that later on jobs like chrismast can be done again, what's important is the heart is here," added Kriss Hatta.

2. Secretly Changed Religion

Kriss Hatta chose to secretly change his faith. Because he didn't want to be called an artist who played with faith.

"Well, I'm still covering up people who still consider me a religious game, still closed but worship is just worship, but there's nothing posted," he said.

3. Since Leaving Prison

"Since leaving prison yesterday, precisely before going home in October 2019. So, the story is like this, inside the prison there is a mosque and a church. At that time, it was still a few hearings before the verdict, but when I was in Cipinang because the mosque and the church were side by side. I looked right, left, right, towards the mosque but I stepped back again, wanted to go to the church but stepped back, I was confused," said Kriss.

"The next day I tried to come again, at that time I was confused, didn't want to move, the next day I came again and finally I decided to enter the church, the process, from one case to another, all processed, Muslims and Christians were in turmoil in my heart, finally I decided to convert in October 2019," continued Kriss Hatta.

4. Not Bothered by Criticism

Kriss Hatta understands very well that he will be criticized by netizens for being accused of playing with faith. According to him, it is already a risk after he announced to the public that he decided to change his faith.

"It's okay. That's the consequence. I will definitely be accused of playing with religion, using religion as a toy," he said.

5. Now I'm Sure

Now, Kriss Hatta is celebrating Christmas again with his extended family. He admitted that this year's Christmas is different from previous years. Last year, Kriss Hatta still kept it a secret that he returned to embracing the Christian faith.

"This year's Christmas is different because there is media coverage at the place of worship. Last year, there was coverage but only limited to having a meal and visiting the place of worship. So, this is my effort to let the public know whether I have returned to my previous faith or not," he concluded.
