A charity co-founded by Prince Harry in Africa to honor his late mother, Princess Diana, is suing him for alleged defamation after he stepped down as its patron last year. Sentebale, which Harry established with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in 2006 and helps young people with HIV in southern Africa, filed a lawsuit last month in the High Court in London, according to court records reviewed on Friday.
Online filings show Harry and his friend, Mark Dyer, who is a trustee of the charity, are being sued for alleged written (libel) or spoken (slander) defamation. No detailed documents are available.
"This charity seeks intervention, protection, and restitution from the court following a coordinated negative media campaign since March 25, 2025, which has caused operational disruptions and damaged the reputation of the organization, its leadership, and its strategic partners," Sentebale said in a statement on its website on Friday.
