Profile of Freya as the New Captain of JKT48, Approaching Shanju's Record

Freyanashifa Jayawardana was born in Tangerang on February 13, 2006. Freya auditioned for the seventh generation of JKT48 in 2018 and was accepted as one of the youngest members of the group at the age of 12.

Freya has the title Raden Rara because her father is a descendant of Sultan Hamengkubuwana II. Freya's father is from the Javanese ethnic group and was born in Tanjung Enim.

Currently, she is enrolled as a student in the communication studies program with a concentration in performing arts at the LSPR Institute of Communication and Business since 2024. She attends the same university as other JKT48 members, namely Angelina Christy, Kathrina Irene, Dena Natalia, Desy Natalia, and Greesella Adhalia.

In 2020, Freya joined Team T of JKT48. The following year, on March 12, 2021, Freya officially became a permanent member (regular member) of JKT48 and was transferred to JKT48 New Formation (NEW ERA project).

Freya herself has a fan community named Freyanation and Freya's Warriors. As of this news release, Freya's followers on Instagram have reached three million. 

In addition to releasing songs & albums, Freya has also expanded her wings in the world of acting in the country. She has starred in two films and two web series to date. 

Freya is only younger by a few months than Shanju, who currently holds the title of the youngest captain of JKT48. Freya became captain at the age of 19 years, 10 months, and 8 days. Shanju became captain at the age of 19 years, 9 months, and 6 days.

Freya is the 6th captain of JKT48 since its formation in 2013. The order of captains from the beginning to the end is Melody Laksani, Shania Juniantha, Beby Chaesara, Shani Indira, Shania Gracia, and Freya.
