RCTI finally responded to the pros and cons. According to Group Corporate Secretary Director of MNC Group, Syafril Nasution, there was no violation that occurred.
"We believe that there was no violation in broadcasting the wedding procession of Aurel and Atta. It is expected that there is no difference in treatment for public figures, children of officials, or the public, all to meet the needs of the viewers," said Syafril Nasution in his press statement on Monday (15/3).
The broadcast of Atta and Aurel's wedding procession is solely to respond to the high public interest. "The public certainly wants to know their activities, especially since this is a positive activity such as engagement and marriage, which is sacred to the Indonesian society," he said.
In addition, Syafril Nasution also added that the broadcast of the engagement, which is part of Atta and Aurel's wedding, is part of the culture. "We know that the engagement process is also part of the culture. RCTI wants to showcase the cultural diversity of Indonesian weddings," said Syafril Nasution.
"This broadcast also greatly helps the community and the extended family who want to witness the engagement procession, especially in a situation like the current pandemic where physical meetings are limited and the number of guests attending the location is also limited," he concluded.
