Proud Moment! Here are 8 Photos of Jason Ranti's Son Who Successfully Won a Bronze Medal at the International Mathematics Olympiad

Christopher Jacob Ranti, affectionately known as Koko, achieved success at the Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad (SEAMO) X 2025. The son of musician Jason Ranti brought home a bronze medal in this international mathematics competition.

SEAMO X is the final round of the Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad (SEAMO), which brings together the best participants from various countries in Southeast Asia and beyond. This prestigious event was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from January 17-20, 2025.

Koko's participation in SEAMO X 2025 began with a recommendation from a parent at his school, Cita Buana School. Anastasia Carolina, affectionately known as Olin, Koko's mother, revealed that someone informed her about her child's extraordinary talent in class.

"Because there was a parent at Koko's school who told me that Koko's child is smart in class. I was recommended to participate in SEAMO," said Olin when contacted by Kapanlagi.com on Tuesday (27/1/2025). Here are the details.

Before proceeding to SEAMO X, Koko first participated in the preliminary stage in Indonesia. In the national selection, he successfully won a silver medal. This achievement qualifies him to compete in the final round in Malaysia along with other participants who also received gold, silver, or bronze medals.

"SEAMO has a preliminary stage in Indonesia. Koko got Silver in Indonesia. Now, if you get Gold, Silver, and Bronze, you are eligible to participate in SEAMO X. The best people from each country compete in the grand final in Kuala Lumpur," he added.

At SEAMO X, the competition is fierce because it is only attended by the best students from each country. The number of participants is also considerable, reaching thousands of people from 22 different countries. "There are thousands of participants from 22 countries," Olin said.

Despite this, Koko continued to show his abilities and managed to win a bronze medal. According to Olin, obtaining a medal at the international level is not easy, considering all the participants are the best from their respective countries. "In the Olympics usually, just medals. Koko made it to Bronze. So far, it’s quite difficult to get medals at the international level because the participants are the best in their countries," said Olin.

Koko's talent in mathematics has actually been evident since he was very young. Olin recounts that since the age of two, Koko has shown an interest in numbers. "Koko's talent was visible from the age of 2. He could already read car plates," he revealed.

Koko's abilities have continued to develop rapidly over time. By the age of three, he could perform single-digit addition without using his fingers, and even began learning simple multiplication. By the age of four, Koko was able to work on two-digit multiplication and solve logic and story math problems.

"At the age of 3, he could already add single-digit numbers without using his fingers and do simple multiplication. By the age of 4, he was learning two-digit multiplication. More complex additions I introduced with logic math problems and story problems when he was 4 years old," said Olin.

He also emphasized that although Koko's natural talent is very strong, practice still plays an important role in enhancing his abilities. "Koko's love for math indeed happens naturally. But practice makes it perfect," he concluded.
