Prove the Quality! 'KKN DI DESA PENARI' Wins Best Screen Writer Award at Asia Pacific Film Festival

Kapanlagi.com - In early December last year, the 60th Asia Pacific Film Festival announced the winners. Indonesia should be proud because the film KKN DI DESA PENARI received an award for best screen writer.

The award was unexpected for Manoj Punjabi as the producer. When making the horror film, he did not think that it would compete and win.

"Honestly, until now, I have never thought about entering film festivals. I always aim for the box office. But this award is very valuable to me," said Manoj when met at MD Place, Setiabudi area, South Jakarta, on Monday (15/1/2024).

1. Responsibility of Many Viewers

Every time he releases a film, Manoj Punjabi only wants his product to attract many viewers. Because he has the responsibility to make Indonesian films the host in his own country.

"Because I have the responsibility to get the most viewers. So that our film industry becomes the host in our own country. If we participate in festivals, it's impossible to become the host," added the 51-year-old producer.

2. Proof of Having Good Quality

This award is proof that the stories in MD Pictures' films have good quality. Therefore, Manoj Punjabi wants to maintain that.

"For us, this proves that we can make films with good storytelling. And it proves that we have standards, have quality that keeps improving. I think that's very important," said Manoj.

In addition to KKN DI DESA PENARI, the Indonesian film titled AUTOBIOGRAPHY also brought home a victory. This thriller genre film won an award for best cinematography.
