Proven Guilty of Breach of Contract, Jefri Nichol Must Pay Rp 4.2 Billion

Kapanlagi.com - The South Jakarta District Court declared that actor Jefri Nichol is guilty in the breach of contract case filed by Falcon Pictures. Jefri Nichol, along with his mother Junita Eka Putri, and his former manager, must pay compensation of Rp 4.2 billion. In addition, they also have to pay administrative costs amounting to Rp 1,340,000.

"Punish defendant one, defendant two, and defendant three to pay compensation to the plaintiff in the amount of Rp 4.2 billion," said the judge in the verdict hearing at the South Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (16/12).

1. Jefri Nichol's Legal Power

Although declared guilty, Jefri Nichol's legal representative, Aris Marasabessy, remains firm in his belief that his client did not commit any breach of contract.

"Actually, there is no breach of contract, what exists is Jefri and Bu Nita having a legal relationship with a party that has first priority during the scheduled dates," said Aris Marasabessy after the trial.

2. Will There Be an Appeal?

Nevertheless, Aris Marasabessy still respects the decision of the Panel of Judges and is prepared if his client, Jefri Nichol, and his mother decide to appeal.

"We will continue to respect it, but in essence, we will encourage Jefri and Mrs. Nita to not accept it. Yes, we will pursue an appeal, of course. Because there are still other options and we still have time to file an appeal," he concluded.

As is known, Falcon Pictures is suing Jefri Nichol for alleged breach of contract for allegedly violating the agreement to work on four film titles.
