Sad news comes from the entertainment world of the homeland. Senior actor Ray Sahetapy took his last breath at the Gatot Soebroto Army Central Hospital (RSPAD) on Tuesday (1/4/2025) night. The news of Ray's passing shocked many, including friends and fellow actors, Rina Hasyim.

When met at the Sentosa Blok C funeral home on Wednesday (2/4/2025), Rina Hasyim expressed her sadness over Ray's departure. She admitted that she initially did not expect the news.

"I found out from the television. I knew he was sick but didn’t expect that until today, last night they said he passed away. So my child wanted to go to Solo today, and he said, 'Mom, Uncle Ray has passed away'. I was shocked. 'Okay mom, I’ll go first, I have an event'. It turns out he will be buried on Friday. But wait, I want to come," said Rina Hasyim.

Rina admitted to having a close relationship with Rey, considering they had previously worked together in soap operas and films. She remembers Rey as a kind and pleasant person. "I feel like we are already like siblings because I have acted in soap operas and films with him. The director back then was Teguh Karya," she reminisced.

Throughout his career, Ray is known as an actor with extraordinary acting skills. Rina also acknowledges the actor's greatness in the world of theater and film. "He is already skilled; he is from theater. He is smarter than me," said Rina.

However, Rina admitted that she had not met Rey in person for a long time before this sad news came. She only learned about Rey's health condition from the actor's family. "I forgot, it has been a long time. But before he got sick. Just yesterday on film day, I met his grandchild who said grandpa is sick, I was shocked," she revealed.

Although feeling a sense of loss, Rina continues to pray that the family left behind is given strength to face Ray's departure. "Let us pray for the family left behind to be strong, because he is in a better place than all of us," she said.

Rina also mentioned that the family is still waiting for Ray's child who is in America before the burial process takes place.

"Yes, she is waiting for her child from America," said Rina Hasyim, who still looked energetic.
