Thariq Halilintar and Aaliyah Massaid finally held their marriage ceremony at Raffles Hotel, South Jakarta, on Friday (26/7/2024). This sacred event was witnessed by many invited guests, including close family and friends of both brides.
As an older brother, Atta Halilintar could not hide his nervousness while waiting for the moment Thariq pronounced the marriage vow in front of Mudji Massaid, who was the guardian for Aaliyah Massaid.
Atta Halilintar's anxiety instantly vanished after hearing Thariq pronounce the marriage vow smoothly and confidently. Atta even joked, saying that Thariq was very eager to get married because of how loudly he pronounced the vow.
"His name is Abang and he is nervous. But he is fluent, going really fast. It seems like he is really eager," said Atta Halilintar at Raffles Hotel, South Jakarta, Friday (26/7/2024).
In a joyful atmosphere, Atta Halilintar expressed his gratitude that Thariq had practiced beforehand for this important moment. He hopes that his younger brother will always be strong and happy in leading a household life with Aaliyah.
"Yes, he has practiced. Just pray that he stays strong until tonight (the reception). I hope he is always happy," said Atta Halilintar.
In addition, Atta also expressed his gratitude to President Joko Widodo for being willing to be a witness at the wedding of Thariq and Aaliyah.
The presence of President Jokowi certainly leaves a very special impression for both newlyweds and their families. Moreover, previously President Jokowi had also been a witness at Atta and Aurel's wedding.
"I thank the President. My brother's wedding, the President has always supported. It seems my younger siblings also want it too," said Atta.
In the midst of the happiness felt, Atta does not deny that he will feel the loss of Thariq who has always been by his side. For the past four years, Thariq has always been there for Atta, even joining him on various trips out of town.
"Thariq has always been by my side for the last 4 years, like my shadow. Even when I go out of town, he comes along, even if the payment is just enough, or if there’s no payment, he still joins me," concluded Atta.
Aaliyah and Thariq are known to have stepped over their older sibling to get married. However, both Sohwa and Zahwa have no issues with this.
