Ready to Depart for Hajj, Ruben Onsu Also Plans to Sacrifice a Large Cow at Home During Eid al-Adha

Ruben Onsu admitted that he is reconsidering his plan to make a sacrifice during this year's Eid al-Adha. This is because he will be celebrating Eid al-Adha in the Holy Land in connection with his plan to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.

Ruben actually intended to send a sacrificial animal to a mosque in Sukabumi, West Java. However, he was confused about whether sacrificing was still obligatory for him since he is going on Hajj.

"I have also asked about this, and they said that if we have gone there, we do not need to sacrifice anymore," said Ruben when he was met in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (20/5/2025).

Even so, Ruben admitted that he had already made a promise to the mosque. That is what makes him still want to seek certainty before making a final decision.

"But I also promised the mosque in Sukabumi to send cattle. What should I do, I need to ask first," said Ruben.

As he prepares for his departure to the Holy Land, Ruben confessed that he does not want to be careless in carrying out his good intentions. He wants everything he does to be in accordance with religious teachings.

"Since I am new, there is nothing wrong with me continuing to ask so that I do not take the wrong steps, so that I can go there or complete the pilgrimage according to the schedule," he said.

Regarding the preparation for the sacrifice, Ruben mentioned that the animal to be sacrificed is already available. He even stated that the size of the cow is very large and ready to be distributed.

"Yes, it's there, just waiting for the realization. Just waiting to see how it goes if I buy a cow like that," said the father of three children.

Ruben mentioned that the size of the cow could be quite large, weighing more than one ton. He also emphasized that this year he does not want to sacrifice a goat again.

"One but big. That cow can be for two villages. No more goats, okay? It's already old, just stick with the cow," added Ruben.
