"Actually, it's been 2 years. It's been 2 years, but it's a bit closed off," said Rully Anggi Akbar.
Boiyen added that initially she did not expect the relationship to progress to a more serious level. However, her husband's good intentions to build a household eventually convinced her heart.
"At first, we thought it was just like that. But over time, he invited me to be serious," added the comedian whose real name is Yeni Rahmawati.
Their love journey has not always been smooth. Maintaining a long-distance relationship (LDR) between Jakarta and Yogyakarta has been one of the challenges they have to face. Both of them have to be smart in managing their time to be able to meet.
"Yesterday we took turns with the time. If I could go to Jakarta, I went to Jakarta; if he could go to Jogja, he went to Jogja. So yesterday we were going back and forth between Jogja and Jakarta," explained Rully.
Interestingly, the husband, who works as a teacher, admitted he was surprised by Boiyen's popularity. He only realized how famous his wife was when they were out together.
"It turns out that when we met, went home, ate, and went down, there were so many people who recognized her, you know," he said.
Now, after going through a long and winding journey, both feel very happy because they have been united in the sacred bond of marriage.
