Being held for the fifth time, the Sabang Merauke The Indonesian Broadway Show is planned to take place on August 17th and 18th, 2024. With an interesting and inspiring theme, this show is believed to ignite a sense of nationalism among various layers of society, especially for the younger generation.
"Last year's story was about a grandfather introducing Indonesian art and culture to his grandchild," said Rusmedie Agus, the director of the Sabang Merauke Show, during a press conference in Thamrin, Central Jakarta, on Monday (6/4).

Rusmedie also explained that the theme carried this year is a continuation of the previous Sabang Merauke Show. Where it tells the story of a child who continues the mission of introducing Indonesian art and culture to the younger generation.
"(The theme) this year is the (continuation) of the journey of that grandchild, a teenager, the current generation in order to introduce Indonesian art and culture to friends of the same generation," he said.
"Continuing the hopes and aspirations of his grandfather so that Indonesian children finally become proud to be Indonesian and then have a high sense of nationalism," he added.
In addition, the Sabang Merauke Show will be performed by dozens of talented dancers from all over the country, from Aceh to Papua. There are also 300 other artists who participate.
Packaged in a colossal performance of Nusantara's art, culture, and traditions, Sabang Merauke The Indonesian Broadway combines theatrical performances, regional dances, and contemporary dances. Not only that, a series of regional and national music will be wrapped in a spectacular performance on stage, including an ethnic fashion parade.
