Ria Ricis Teaches the Meaning of Sacrifice from an Early Age to Moana

"She saw the sacrificial animal and she felt sad too, even though I had already said, 'As much as possible, let's not be sad, we have to be sincere.' But she ended up crying too. So actually, Moana cried because she saw her mother crying," said Ria Ricis when met in the Cilandak area, South Jakarta, Wednesday (27/5/2026).

Ricis has her own way of providing understanding to Moana about the essence of sacrificing. She wants Moana to understand that everything we have in this world is merely a trust from Allah SWT.

"Explaining to Moana is certainly because this is Idul Adha, the day when we sacrifice for Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, we must love Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala more than what we already have in this world," Ricis explained.

Not only about sincerity, Ricis also explained the benefits of the sacrifice worship for life in the hereafter. She hopes that this simple explanation will stick in Moana's memory until she grows up.

"And Alhamdulillah, slowly Moana will surely understand, and every time we want to buy a sacrificial animal, I always tell Moana, we buy a sacrificial animal, we buy a goat, we buy a cow, the purpose is to be our vehicle on the Day of Judgment later," said Ricis.

Moana herself seems enthusiastic about participating in every series of her mother's sacrificial worship activities. Although still a toddler, Moana has started to be introduced to the concept of sharing with others through sacrificial meat.

"Every time I want to buy a sacrificial animal, I always tell Moana, we are buying a sacrificial animal, we are buying a goat, we are buying a cow," she concluded.
