"Please allow us to adjust to the grieving situation that we are experiencing," said Ridwan Kamil after the burial procession of Eril at the Islamic Center, Cimaung, Bandung Regency, West Java, on Monday, June 13.

With a trembling voice, Ridwan Kamil said that there will be time for him to speak more. He also asked the media not to ask questions yet.
"There will be a time for me to speak at length, I ask that there be no questions yet from my friends," he said.

In addition, it is known that Ridwan Kamil's eldest son, Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz or Eril, was declared missing on May 26, 2022, in the Aare River, Bern, Switzerland. Eril was found dead on June 8, 2022. During the 14 days, Ridwan Kamil and his family, assisted by the Indonesian Embassy in Bern, made every effort to search for Eril.
"I apologize for any unpleasant and uncomfortable situations during the past 14 days. We did our best while praying," he said.

As parents, Ridwan Kamil and Atalia Praratya Kamil, as well as his sister, Camillia Laetitia Azzahra and extended family, accompanied Eril on his final journey. Ridwan Kamil expressed that he has accepted the departure of his beloved son with sincerity and believes that Eril is now in a peaceful and happy state.
"Eril must be very happy and peaceful. We, as his parents, have accepted it with sincerity and are grateful that he was placed in a good place and process," he concluded.
