Comedian Rina Nose recently shared the story of the origin of her unique stage name. In an interview, she explained that before being known as Rina Nose, she often changed her name according to the television program she participated in, such as Rina Firdaus and Rina API. These names changed frequently and none were permanent. Check out the full story below!
Rina, whose full name is Nurina Permata Putri, revealed that she felt the need to have a more permanent and memorable stage name. Â
The process of searching for that name was triggered by a tease from his colleague, Sule, regarding their similarly flat noses.
Finally, he decided to use the word "Nose," which means nose in English, as part of his name. He felt that the name reflected his identity and was easy for fans to remember.
"Well, my name used to be Rina and it always changed according to the TV program. For example, when I was with Firdaus, my name became Rina Firdaus, when the TV program was on API, I auditioned for a comedian on TPI, my name was Rina API. So it’s like my name kept changing, there was nothing permanent," said Rina Nose as quoted by detikhot, on Monday (18/11/2024).
"Finally, I thought to give it a name so it could be permanent, just to make it permanent, then I thought, Rina what, Rina what, since people often talk about noses, Rina Nose doesn’t sound nice, Rina Pesek is already taken, so I just thought, let’s use the English word Nose, it’s spelled Nose, so let’s just use that," she said with a laugh.
Rina also added that the introduction of the stage name Rina Nose did not happen instantly; she had to go through a branding process for months for her name to be recognized among television audiences. Now, the name Rina Nose has become a strong identity and is widely known in the Indonesian entertainment industry.
